Biography:
Christina is the Office Assistant for Otech Engineering, Inc. A new employee to the company, Christina comes with a wide variety of experience in customer service, organizational skills, and hands on application.
In 2000 Christina graduated from Bellarmine Preparatory High school in Tacoma Washington, and headed to Oregon State University to pursue a degree in Zoology.
While in college, Christina was president of the OSU Hunter/Jumper Horseback Riding Team, danced with the Cool Shoes Dance Performance Team, and competing in various horse shows throughout Oregon.
With plans of increasing hands-on experience Christina applied for an internship with Brad’s World Reptiles based out of Corvallis, Oregon. Christina’s interest in conservation and education as a combined entity was sparked, and she continued to pursue that path by applying for an internship with Walt Disney World’s Animal Kingdom as an Educational Presenter. With one term of classes left to finish, Christina returned to Oregon to complete her degree and decide what job path to follow. Shortly after graduation, Christina accepted a position working for the Sacramento Zoo in their Education Department. They chose her for this position based on her ability to take what she knew then grow, learn, and adapt from there. Although many aspects of this job were a great fit for Christina, she quickly realized that working in the zoo was not affordable in the long term, and she continued her exploratory path at the Sacramento Local Conservation Corps as a Recycling Center and Recycling Route Supervisor managing recycling routes, and supervising young adults earning their high school diplomas. During this time, Christina had the opportunity to hone her skills managing and organizing a variety of projects including implementing new policies, developing protocol for various tasks, and maintaining customer relationships with over 300 accounts while continuing to pursue educating others about conservation. At the corps, Christina had the opportunity to spend more time with a variety of people and learn more about the practicality of conservation. When a position became available at Otech, Christina decided to take another step forward, challenging herself to continue to learn and grow in organizational methods, quality management systems, and understanding basic engineering.
