Adam Havner is the Lab Manager for Otech Engineering, Inc. As Lab Manager, he is responsible for the operation and maintenance of the wind tunnel laboratories, scheduling of the testing, and maintains the traceability of the facility. Adam received his Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical and Aeronautical Engineering from the University of California, Davis in 2008. He also obtained his Engineer-in-Training (EIT) Certificate in 2008 and intends to become a licensed Professional Engineer in Mechanical Engineering after gaining more experience in the industry. While finishing his degree and to supplement his engineering education, Adam started as a Lab Worker at Otech in 2007 where he was introduced to the concepts of anemometer testing in wind tunnels and performed many tests with our most widely calibrated cup anemometer, the NRG #40. He later advanced to Lab Technician before the completion of his degree. In July 2008, he was promoted to the position of Lab Manager.
Adam was inspired to pursue engineering by his grandfather, an electrical engineer. At UC Davis, Adam was a member of the National Society of Collegiate Scholars and of the school’s cycling team, representing the university at the Collegiate Mountain Bike National Championship.
